What is zCover® Antimicrobial DeCoVID™ Solution 

The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted lives all around the world. As of August 31, 2020, the total number of confirmed cases has reached 25 million. Research has found that the SARS-CoV-2 virus can be transmitted through contaminated surfaces, in addition to close contact with infected persons. It is therefore important to treat contaminated surfaces to reduce the spread of coronavirus.

 

zCover has developed an antimicrobial deCoVID solution based on material science to prevent the spread of infectious coronaviruses. The deCoVID solution deploys cutting edge deCoVID metal nanoparticles as antimicrobial, antiviral and antibacterial agents to suppress microbial growth. The deCoVID metal nanoparticles have exhibited virucidal effect against a broad spectrum of viruses to reduce virulence of cultured cells. As shown in the figure above, zClean® antimicrobial deCoVID metal nanoparticles can attach to the virus. When sufficient deCoVID metal nanoparticles are present, they can wrap around the surface of the virus. The virus is thus isolated and blocked from binding and invading human cells to reproduce and subsequently terminate at the end of the virus life cycle. zClean antimicrobial deCoVID metal nanoparticles surely reduce viral infectivity of cultured cells.

 

Based on the antimicrobial principle of deCoVID metal nanoparticles, zCover has developed a portfolio of effective antimicrobial products to prevent transmission of infectious viruses.
